Description: In this project, my partner and I showed the class how to create an accordion-style piece that gives a 3D affect. We used 2 pieces of white paper and drew two trees on each side of one piece of paper, coloring one for one season of the year, and one for another. Then the students colored their trees and measured 12 inches of their paper, making a tick mark for each inch. They cut out each inch of paper and glued it to the second piece of white paper, then folded that second piece of paper accordion style. The result gave an illusion of two different seasons, one season when you tilted the paper a certain way, and another season when you tilted it the other way.

Alternate Activity: We talked about seasons for our project; however, I think it would also be fun to just use this as an activity in art class. The students could use one medium on one half of the paper in black and white, then use another medium with color for the other side to create more of an illusion.
