Red Glasses Project

Description: In this project, we made our own red sight glasses and then drew an animal upside down. We drew this on white paper with a blue colored pencil. When we were done drawing the animal, we made patterns over it in warm colors so that you can only see the animal when putting the red glasses on.

Alternate Activity: With this activity, I think it would be fun to have a word scavenger hunt with words. The words will be written in a cool color and will be covered in warm colors, so that the students will have to go around the room and try to find the words of the week.

Van Gough Project

Description: With this project, we took tissue paper and glued it onto a page. Then we made our own landscape over the tissue paper after it's dry. I made a field.

Alternate Activity: With this activity, I think it'd be fun to have it pertain to different ecosystems. Then this could be a science project. For example, we could use tissue paper and have the students make an underwater landscape or a desert, etc.

ART OBJECTIVES

LESSON

Season Agamograph

 OBJECTIVES

1. Students will be able to create a foldable agamograph using their choice of materials after watching a Magic School Bus video about the seasons. They will have their choice of material and season.

2.  Students will be able to paint one side of the agamograph and create a collage on the other side. Using these two types of media, they will choose a season and portray it in the piece.

3. Students will be able to evaluate and discuss how agamographs can be used and how we can show two different seasons using the artwork.

4.  Students will be able to listen to a lesson about seasons, then they will make an agamograph using at least two types of media and two seasons. They will then present the artwork in a gallery walk, and we will have a whole-class discussion on what we noticed about everyone's artwork.

The Dot Project: Grayce Comes

Description: For this project, we were given a coffee filter and a variety of art materials. We read The Dot story and got to make this project after reading the book. We were able to use whatever materials we wanted for this project.

Picture:

Alternate activity: For an alternate activity, we could read Brown Bear, Brown Bear who is the same author as The Dot. With that I would use egg cartons and cut out a little part of it then let them paint and design their own animal like the ones from the book.

Lesson 4: Printmaking

Description: For this activity we learned about how to make different prints and where they originated from. Then we used ink with at leas...
